14th May 2009 - A-Series 2.0: New RF power amplifier offers more power and an
extended frequency range in a smaller unit
AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation has significantly reworked the design of its proven A-Series of amplifiers and now introduces the first model of this new A-Series , the 500A250A.
The power amplifier 500A250A provides 500 Watt in the frequency range from 10 kHz to 250 MHz. The frequency range was extended from 100 kHz down to 10 kHz. The new model fits into a smaller enclosure and is lighter than its predecessor model. In ad-dition the 500A250A has an improved noise figure for increased dynamic range. The new model is based on solid state technology and has a 100 % mismatch tolerance.
The amplifier can be controlled by a digital display or remotely by an USB, IEEE-488 and RS-232 interface. The model 500A250A provides readily available RF power for typical applications such as RF susceptibility testing, antenna and component testing, watt meter calibration, particle accelerators, plasma generation, communications and for use as a driver for higher power amplifiers. emv GmbH has an ISO 9001:2000 certified service center and offers technical support for all AR amplifiers in Taufkirchen (nearby Munich) or on-site upon customer request.
