12th December 2008 - Time Domain Measurement Instrument for Fast Emission Measurements up to 3 GHz

The latest member of the TDEMI product family from GAUSS Instruments covers the frequency range from 9 kHz to 3 GHz. With this extended frequency range, measurements up to 3 GHz as required e.g. in the automotive industry, can now also be performed up to 4000 times as fast as with traditional test receivers.
This innovative time domain measurement instrument processes digital signals in real time. Through this digitalization and the FFT-based processing, the signal can deliver accurate results simultaneously for several thousand frequencies in a frequency range. This means that emission measurements can be performed, depending on the test configuration, up to 4000 times faster than with normal RF test receivers.
The very short measurement time also enables precise investigation of transient effects, such as a motor start-up. The real-time processing permits reliable measurement of short intermittent disturbances, e.g. caused by car window regulators.
As well as the 3G version this product line from GAUSS Instruments includes two other devices, the TDEMI 1G (9 kHz - 1 GHz) and the TDEMI 30M (9 kHz - 30 MHz).
The TDEMI system manufacturer is the firm GAUSS Instruments, a spin-off from the Munich Technical University.
