New Technology for fast Emission Measurements in Time-Domain

emv and the recently founded company GAUSS Instruments GmbH have introduced a novel measurement system. With the TDEMI-System the measurement speed of EMI-Measurments can be increased by factor 50 to 4000 compared to traditional EMI receivers.
The measurement time for EMI Measurements can be reduced significantly, which is a major benefit especially for the Automotive Industry and EMC Test labs.
Through real-time analysis the signal is continuously processed at several thousand frequencies in parallel. It is analyzed using the Quasi-Peak-Detector for example. The spectrogram mode enables a Real-time Analysis in Peak, Average and RMS Detector Mode and CISPR-Bandwidth.
A powerful ADC-System and a special digital signal processing unit allow it to measure even pulsed signals with the necessary dynamic and to define the quasi-peak value. With the TDEMI system a complete quasi-peak measurement up to 1 GHz takes two minutes. A prescan is not neccessary. The TDEMI-System covers the frequency range from 150 kHz to 1 GHz with the usual CISPR Bandwidths.
The TDEMI System was developed by the company GAUSS Instruments in Munich. The company is a spin-off of the Technical University Munich. emv GmbH is responsible for the international sales of the TDEMI system.
